What is
pinstriping?
Pinstriping began in post- World War 2
America when pilots returned home, restless for the speed of their fighter planes, turned to tuning up scrapyard
bangers into street racers, and the hot rod was born. Pinstriping was a way of decorating hot rods and is as
popular today as it ever was in the hot rod and custom car scene. Pictured is one of pinstriping’s pioneers,
Kenny Howard who traded under the name ‘Von Dutch’, which was later used as a designer clothing
label.
Pinstriping is becoming more mainstream
in the UK and is particularly popular with Chrysler PT Cruisers.
However we discriminate against no vehicle and would be more than happy to discuss any design or just an idea
that you may have.
